VR-Glasses Like In The Movie Ready Player One?

The world of VR is still growing, and things are getting interesting. People are more curious about VR, and it looks like it’s going to keep growing fast. Now, we’ve got some cool VR headsets out, like Meta Quest 2, HTC Vive Pro 2, Valve Index, and Sony PlayStation VR. They do a bunch of cool stuff, and there’s something for everyone’s budget.

In the next 5–10 years, VR glasses are going to become cheaper, smaller, and lighter. We’re talking about getting even cooler stuff, like suits that let you feel things in the virtual world and treadmills so you can walk around in your virtual adventure.

But hold on, are we close to having VR glasses like in the movie Ready Player One?

Not really. The super cool tech for feeling things and walking freely in the virtual world is still just getting started.

Yet, there’s hope! Some companies are already working on making VR glasses that look good and feel light — just like wearing sunglasses. Varjo is making one that’s comfy enough to wear for a long time, even in public. Another company, Nreal, is creating a mixed-reality headset called Nreal Light. It’s so light and cool that you can wear it like sunglasses, and you can still see the real world around you while playing with virtual stuff.

When will we all have VR glasses as awesome as Ready Player One?

It’s hard to say, but the fact that companies are trying out prototypes is a good sign. I’d guess it might take at least 10 more years before we all get our hands on VR glasses that look cool, feel light, and give the same awesome experience as the Oculus (now Meta) Quest. Exciting times are coming in the world of VR!
